IE Discovery’s Stacy Jackson Sells Out at Association of Corporate Counsel Annual Meeting
Austin - October 21, 2011 — IE Discovery, a leading provider of comprehensive Discovery Management solutions to the legal community, today announced that the panel it is co-presenting at the 2011 Association of Corporate Counsel Annual Meeting, “Ethical Obligations in the Modern Era” has sold out. The session will be co-presented with Jason R. Baron, Director of Litigation at the National Archives and Records Administration; Shawn Cheadle, General Counsel, Surveillance & Navigation Systems at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company; and Aryeh Friedman, a privacy officer at a major financial services company.

The session will take place on Monday, October 24 at 4:30 p.m. “Attorneys are ethically obligated to competently represent their clients, and ‘keeping up’ with technology is an integral part of that duty,” says Jackson. “As it has become pervasive in society, understanding new technology has become a complicated ethical issue, so I’m not surprised at the response by in-house counsel.”

In this interactive discussion, Jackson and the panel will discuss how technology is impacting a number of areas, including client communications and competent representation. The panel will also discuss information security and ethical issues raised in negotiating search protocols. Attendees will gain a better understanding of how to learn the “new” technology basics such as social media and cloud computing, as well as what’s on the horizon and how will it impact ethical obligations.

ACC's Annual Meeting is the largest gathering of in-house counsel from around the world. It and takes place on October 23-26, 2011 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Please visit http://www.acc.com/education/am11/ for more information.
